Fresh River Holds Spa Day and Tea Party for Local Residents

July 24, 2017

EAST WINDSOR – On July 20, 2017 twenty guests from the East Windsor Senior Center and the Park Hill community visited the Fresh River Healthcare team for a Spa Day. The Fresh River team worked hard in preparation to welcome the group and the main floor dining room invited everyone in to the welcoming scents of infusion.

The Spa Day was described in detail here: Marti Adams had a Reiki table set up behind screens and as people began to understand the gifts of Reiki, she was soon presented with a line awaiting her talents. Marti set up another table with crystals, rainsticks, a Chinese gong and singing bowls. All of these were explained as she “cleansed “ the room with a sage ‘smudge stick’. It was said, “One could feel the calm entering our space.”

Kathy, from ‘Back in Touch Wellness Center’ in Granby kindly offered her services for chair massage and the response was continuous and appreciative. Kim Wanegar-Nation’s table offered Sea Salt hand massages and was met with smiles and gratitude. Community Liaison Heather Bale brought a dozen bone china tea cups and saucers for tea service and Food Service Director Janine Lancaster provided a light dessert.
