MANCHESTER (May 12, 2025) – From May 11th to 17th, 2025, iCare Health Network proudly joins the nationwide observance of National Skilled Nursing Care Week (NSNCW aka Nursing Home Week), following the American Health Care Association’s theme, “Tapestry of Life.” This year’s theme emphasizes the “vibrant, diverse experiences of residents in skilled nursing facilities—each individual a unique thread contributing to a rich and interconnected community.”
At iCare centers across New England, Nursing Home Week is a time to spotlight the residents whose lives, histories, and daily moments define the heart of skilled nursing care. Whether they are long-term residents or short-term rehabilitation patients, each person brings a story shaped by family, career, service, and resilience. These stories are honored not only through care but through companionship, activities, and a strong sense of belonging.
Residents often form deep relationships with fellow residents and staff, building a sense of home and continuity. Daily interactions—whether during meals, therapy sessions, or recreational activities—form a social fabric that supports emotional and mental well-being. NSNCW offers an opportunity to celebrate this fabric, highlighting how the journey of aging can be filled with dignity, connection, and joy.
This week is about residents, their families and loved ones and the talented and committed staff. While the week also acknowledges the essential role of caregivers and staff, the focus remains on the lived experiences of residents—their milestones, wisdom, and the vibrant contributions they make to their communities. Activities during the week are designed to reflect resident interests and honor their individuality.
As NSNCW 2025 unfolds, iCare Health Network reaffirms its commitment to person-centered care and celebrates the residents at the heart of its mission—individuals whose lives form the beautiful tapestry of skilled nursing care.
