MANCHESTER, CT (September 23, 2026) — iCare Health Network is proud to congratulate recently retired Chief Clinical Officer Allison Breault on being named a 2026 Healthcare Hero by the Hartford Business Journal.
The annual Healthcare Heroes awards recognize outstanding healthcare professionals whose leadership, innovation and commitment have made a meaningful impact on healthcare organizations, patients and communities across Connecticut.
Allison joined iCare Health Network as Chief Clinical Officer in October 2020, bringing decades of nursing and healthcare leadership experience spanning skilled nursing, acute care, home health and hospice. She joined the organization at an extraordinary moment for healthcare and long-term care in particular, as providers continued to navigate the unprecedented clinical and operational challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
During her tenure, Allison provided clinical leadership across iCare’s network of skilled nursing centers and played an important role in advancing the organization’s approach to quality, resident-centered care and specialized clinical programming.
Her leadership coincided with a period of significant evolution for iCare, including the continued development of specialty programs for individuals with complex medical and behavioral health needs, expansion of the MissionCare model, growth of in-house clinical capabilities, standardizing of clinical practices, transitioning to a new electronic medical record across iCare, moving to paperless systems, the opening of MissionCare locations in Holyoke MA and Bennington VT, managing additional nursing facility portfolios, operationalizing two in-house dialysis units and much more.
Prior to joining iCare, Allison served as Executive Director of Masonicare Home Health and Hospice and held leadership positions with Hartford HealthCare at Home and VNA East. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade in acute care, including serving as Vice President for Patient Care Services at Windham Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and completed an Executive Program in Managed Care.
Allison recently retired from iCare after nearly six years as Chief Clinical Officer, concluding a healthcare career and leaving a legacy defined by nursing leadership, clinical excellence and a commitment to the people and teams entrusted with caring for others.
The Healthcare Hero recognition is a fitting capstone to that career and a well-deserved acknowledgment of Allison’s contributions to healthcare in Connecticut and to the residents, staff and communities served by iCare Health Network.
