HARTFORD, CT (September 16, 2026) – Rainy weather couldn’t dampen the spirit in Hartford on Sunday as staff, family members and friends from iCare Health Network joined thousands of participants and spectators for the 2026 Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival del Coquí.
Team members from Parkville Care Center and Trinity Hill Care Center once again represented iCare in the annual parade, continuing a tradition of participation that stretches back several years. Despite steady rain throughout much of the event, the iCare team came ready to celebrate, bringing plenty of energy and Puerto Rican pride to the parade route.
The annual Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade is organized by the Connecticut Institute for Community Development (CICD) Puerto Rican Parade, Inc. and is the largest parade in Hartford and the Greater Hartford region, bringing together thousands of marchers and spectators in a celebration of Puerto Rican culture, heritage and community. The parade culminated at Bushnell Park with the Festival del Coquí.
iCare Health Network and its Hartford care centers have a long history of supporting CICD and participating in the parade. Parkville, Trinity Hill and other iCare team members have marched together in previous years, and iCare is proud to once again support the Parade and Festival as a Carroza Partner Level Sponsor.
The celebration has special meaning for iCare’s Hartford centers. Parkville and Trinity Hill serve diverse resident populations and employ team members with deep connections to Hartford and its Puerto Rican and Hispanic communities. Parkville also offers a Hispanic Cultural Program designed to incorporate language, food, music, traditions and culturally responsive programming into everyday life at the center.
This year’s weather made for a wetter parade than usual, but certainly not a quieter one. Umbrellas and ponchos were plentiful as participants continued along the route and celebrated together despite the rain.
For the iCare team, the 2026 parade was another opportunity to celebrate the culture and traditions of residents, staff, families and the communities the care centers serve.
iCare Health Network thanks the Parkville Care Center and Trinity Hill Care Center team members, families and friends who came out despite the weather and represented iCare with pride. Special thanks to CICD and the many volunteers, organizers and community partners who once again made the Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival del Coquí possible.
