September is recognized as National Recovery Month, a time to honor the resilience, healing, and hope of individuals on the journey of recovery. Throughout the month, iCare Health Network care centers marked the occasion with meaningful celebrations, activities, and events that brought residents and staff together in support of strength and community.

Every year on September 18th, National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day shines a light on the unique challenges faced by older adults living with HIV. With improved treatment and earlier diagnoses, many individuals are living longer, healthier lives. Today, more than half of people living with HIV in the United States are over the age of 50. This makes it more important than ever to focus on specialized care, stigma reduction, and supportive services that meet the needs of an aging population.

Meet George Kingston, Administrator at Trinity Hill Care Center. George’s journey in healthcare began early on with an MBA in healthcare finance. He initially managed budgets and reimbursements in hospitals but soon discovered that the routine and cyclical nature of that role left him yearning for more variety.
