Touchpoints Rehab Connects with Community at West Hartford Senior Day 2026

WEST HARTFORD, CT (May 15, 2026) – Representatives from iCare Health Network joined more than 50 vendors and over 200 attendees at the 29th Annual West Hartford Senior Day and Health Fair on May 13, 2026, at the Elmwood Senior Center in West Hartford. The annual event brought together healthcare providers, senior service organizations, and community partners for a morning focused on wellness, resources, and community engagement.

Representing iCare at the event were Regional Clinical Director Francis Lijadu and Complex Care Nurse Mirja Tupas, who spent the day speaking with seniors, caregivers, and fellow vendors about the services available throughout the iCare network. Francis and Mirja were oined during the event by Dr. Awlad Bhuiyan, a member of the medical staff at Touchpoints at Bloomfield, who interacted with attendees and vendors throughout the morning.

According to Tupas, the event generated strong community engagement and consistent traffic at the iCare table throughout the day. A wine-themed raffle basket proved especially popular, drawing more than 60 entries from attendees. Dr. Bhuiyan selected the winning ticket, with Barbara Nair named as the raffle winner.

Several meaningful interactions also stood out during the event. One gentleman stopped by the table to share that he had previously been a resident at Touchpoints at Chestnut for two weeks and wanted the team to know he had been treated very well during his stay. Attendees were also particularly interested in learning more about iCare’s in-house dialysis capabilities at Parkville Care Center and Westside Care Center, with many expressing surprise and enthusiasm that dialysis treatments can now be provided directly within the skilled nursing setting.

Hosted by the West Hartford Senior Centers, Senior Day continues to serve as an important community event for older adults and healthcare organizations across the region. For iCare Health Network, the event provided valuable visibility for its centers while allowing team members to engage directly with community members and families in a positive and personal setting.
