I build trust and rapport with individuals in Recovery by giving them respect. I speak to them without judgment, show them empathy, am my true self; transparent and understanding. I feel I empower individuals in Recovery by showing them how far they have come and highlighting their positives, These residents are already struggling with the day to day and are constantly trapped in a negative space or mindset. -
Westside Care Center Celebrates Two Retirements

On August 29, 2024 the team at Westside Care Center celebrated with staff the retirement of two members of the team. Lorna Christie retired after eight years of service as a CNA and Lynne Ambrose retired after 38 years as a CNA, both at Westside. A celebration was held at the care center with well wishes and many thanks. -
On June 26, 2024, 31 direct caregivers from across iCare’s Greater Hartford Memory Care Centers earned their Certified Dementia Practitioner credential. CNA Hyacinth Mallett Retires After Thirty-Nine Years of Service at Westside Care Center

On July 5, 2023, the team at Westside Care Center celebrated and recognized Hyacinth Mallett for her nearly 40 years of service to the residents of Westside. Hyacinth joined the team on October 30, 1984 after she completed CNA training at Gables Convalescent Home on Washington Street in Hartford. She briefly worked at Burnside Convalescent Home for six months before calling Westside Care Center home. In 2016, she received an American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) award and w…
