MANCHESTER, CT (July 31, 2026) — iCare Health Network is proud to announce that Chief Financial Officer Michael Plausse has been named the recipient of the 2026 Champion of Elder Care Award, one of the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities and Connecticut Center for Assisted Living’s (CAHCF/CCAL) highest honors.
The award recognizes individuals whose leadership, expertise, and commitment have made a lasting impact on long-term care in Connecticut. Plausse was honored during the CAHCF/CCAL Annual Meeting on July 23 at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina.
In announcing the award, CAHCF/CCAL President and CEO Matthew V. Barrett cited Plausse’s “outstanding leadership and advocacy” on behalf of Connecticut’s long-term care community. The association highlighted his many years of service on the CAHCF/CCAL Board of Directors, his role on the Executive Committee and as Treasurer, and his significant contributions to statewide policy initiatives affecting nursing home care.
Among those contributions were his participation on the Connecticut Department of Social Services’ 2023 Excess Nursing Home Bed Capacity Work Group and the 2026 Aging Committee Working Group focused on nursing home two-bed room configurations. The association also recognized Plausse’s “tireless and unwavering commitment” to the mission of CAHCF/CCAL.
Michael’s leadership extends far beyond the walls of iCare. He has consistently brought thoughtful financial leadership, strategic insight, and a deep commitment to strengthening long-term care across Connecticut. This recognition reflects not only his expertise, but also his willingness to invest his time and talents in advancing the entire profession.
As Chief Financial Officer, Plausse has played a pivotal role in supporting iCare Health Network’s continued growth, innovation, and mission-driven approach to serving older adults and individuals with complex care needs. His work has helped position the organization for long-term sustainability while supporting investments in specialized clinical programs, workforce development, and quality improvement.
