Touchpoints at Bloomfield Celebrates Retirement of Longstanding Volunteer Carol Lenneg

iCare Health Network, Touchpoints at Bloomfield, Carol Lenneg, Retirement, David Skoczulek

BLOOMFIELD (February 24, 2020) – The residents and staff of Touchpoints at Bloomfield threw a surprise retirement party for Carol Lenneg, a librarian at Prosser Library in the heart of Bloomfield and a longstanding volunteer at the care center.

Carol has volunteered for just shy of 17 years in March and is retiring from both the library and her volunteer role.  During her volunteer hours at Touchpoints, her style was to choose a topic and utilize her vast resources at the library to provide and facilitate a discussion for the residents.  She would bring with her materials such as films, pictures and reading literature for the program.

Amy Gonzalez, a nurse on the short term rehab Touchpoints Unit, graciously made a cake in the form of a book to represent Carol’s commitment to learning, reading and volunteerism.  The residents cheered Carol on, thanking her for her dedicated service that she provided for so many years.  “We wish Carol the best in this new chapter in her life”, said Cindy Payne, Director of Therapeutic Recreation.
