Silver Springs Care Center Celebrates an Employee Safety Milestone
January 25, 2019Silver Springs Care Center team celebrated a key milestone in employee safety; 750 days without time lost to a work related injury. For all of their hard work, attention to safety and dedication to a team effort, the each shift was treated to a Pizza Party complete with wings and salad. Once the party was scheduled Silver Springs had already crossed through 780 days without lost time!
Silver Springs Care Center Recognized with Silver Level National Quality Award from AHCA
January 15, 2019Silver Springs Care Center in Meriden has announced that they will be recognized with a 2018 Silver - Commitment to Quality Award by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). Silver Springs is the only skilled nursing care center in Connecticut to received the award in 2018. The notification comes after the 2018 AHCA/NCAL awards ceremony and as such Silver Springs will be honored at the 2019 Annual Convention and Expo in Orlando, FL.
Silver Springs’ Regina Estrada Receives National Recognition as Certified Dementia Practitioner of the Year
December 20, 2018Regina Estrada, a Licensed Practical Nurse at Silver Springs Care Center has been recognized by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners as the 2018 Certified Dementia Practitioner of the Year for her work in the field of dementia care. The award recognizes the impact that the recipient has in dementia care and their ability to motivate their colleagues to set higher care goals with patient care.
Honoring Veterans at Silver Springs Care Center - 2018
November 12, 2018The team at Silver Springs Care Center honored Veteran’s Day by highlighting the military service of many of its residents and staff who had served. Silver Springs is a VA-contract skilled nursing care center and thus regularly care for those who have served our country. More pictures in the post.
Bruce, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, sustained a left humeral fracture followed by a fall causing a right ankle fracture and required surgery and casting. He was admitted to Silver Springs’ Veteran’s Program. Within a few days his pain was well-managed, his dietary needs were met, and he fully participated in all therapeutic activities. “The care I received was outstanding all the time, from nursing to therapies; accelerating my healing process” says Bruce.
