MissionCare at Holyoke Celebrates its First Anniversary on Ground Hog's Day, 2/2/22

On Groundhog’s Day 2022, the team at MissionCare at Holyoke celebrated the first anniversary of the care center’s operation. Put another way, they celebrated heading into Year Two on 2/2/22. To carry through with the dual themes, the Groundhog himself ignored the presence or absence of his shadow and visited residents and staff, delivering cupcakes and spreading traditional Groundhog Day cheer. Christmas at iCare: Holiday Pajamas and Ugly Sweater Sightings

As part of the major Christmas festivities that always take place around iCare Health Network, holiday pajamas and ugly sweaters made an appearance. December17th was National Ugly Sweater Day and Parkville Care Center and MissionCare at Holyoke definitely came through! MissionCare at Holyoke Holds Ceremonial Opening

On August 18, 2021 the team at MissionCare at Holyoke held a ceremonial opening, so named because the care center has been open and in operation as MissionCare since early 2021. In attendance were residents, staff, families, dignitaries, partners and members of the iCare Health Network team. The theme included references to butterflies to signify the process of MissionCare becoming what it is today as a result of the coming together of Farren Care Center, Mount Saint Vincent and iCare. -
Jean Rewa was Farren Care Center’s longest tenured employee, having started in April of 1984 when the center was the Farren Memorial Hospital. At that time, Jean began her career the dietary department and it was her first real job. She remained in dietary for close to 37 years where she served in many different roles. Per Jean, her favorite was running the Snack Bar and Café. She loves to cook and she enjoys her daily interactions with the Residents.
