Fostering a Home-Like Environment at Touchpoints at Chestnut

At Touchpoints at Chestnut, as with many skilled nursing communities, there is much more to caring for residents than medical care and rehabilitation. Although short term rehab can be quite brief, stretching a few days to a few weeks, many residents call our communities their home. In order to foster the home like environment, provide stimulating activities and recreation and add to the overall quality of life, many other projects and initiatives have been woven into daily life. -

Three Vietnam War Veterans Receive Connecticut Veterans Wartime Service Medal - Touchpoints at Manchester

Three veterans of the Vietnam War were given the Connecticut Veterans Wartime Service Medal on Tuesday at a ceremony at Touchpoints at Manchester. Cornelius Evans, Renaldo Victoria Jr. and Edward Delane Jr. were originally meant to get the medals at a June 8 event honoring veterans, but the medals had not arrived in time. Instead, they were able to celebrate Tuesday with other veterans as well as family and friends. -
iCare Health Network was named Best Place for Adult Care in the North Central News Reader’s Poll for 2018. The certificate reads that the winners of this annual contest are determined by the North Central News Community. The paper counts among its circulation Ellington, Enfield, Somers, Stafford and Vernon.

Shari Yard, RN, joined iCare Health Network as Vice President of Clinical Operations. In this role she will be responsible for ensuring that iCare managed skilled nursing communities are providing clinically excellent care to their respective residents. Ensuring high quality clinical care involves all facets of the nursing operation, preparation for surveys by the Department of Public Health, analysis of patient outcomes, mentorship and guidance of the nursing leadership and much more.
