It’s Halloween! And all around the iCare Health Network, residents and staff are getting in the spirit. Costume parties and pumpkin decorating and jack o’lantern carving contests were held.Snacks, candy, cookies and other tricks and treats were given out. Have a happy, safe and spooky Halloween! Parkville Care Center Celebrates Fiestas Patronales 2019

On the evening of September 19, 2019, Parkville Care Center in Hartford held its first annual Fiestas Patronales for residents, families, staff and guests. Some 80 plus people attended the event that included live music, a DJ, dancing, performances, an appearance by Miss Puerto Rico of Greater Hartford and the crowning of Ms. Parkville. The food service team, led by Jennifer De’Leon, served up a buffet sampler of traditional delicacies.

staff and their families from Chelsea Place, Parkville and Trinity Hill Care Centers represented iCare at the 2019 Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Day Parade and Festival. The iCare team marched in the parade from Wawarme Avenue, ending in Bushnell Park, decked out in matching t-shirts and regalia and accompanied by two decorated Jeeps. The day’s theme was Honrando el Pasado y Celebrando el Futuro; honoring the past and celebrating the future.

Parkville Care Center hosted Governor Ned Lamont for the signing of a minimum wage bill. The Governor took a brief walking tour and chatted with the front line staff and leadership. Governor Lamont signed the bill in Brookman Hall in front of community activists, union members, the Lieutenant Governor, several TV and print news outlets, members of the Connecticut General Assembly, Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and an enthusiastic crowd.
